The Dark One, Vecna, Queen of the Spidered Throne, Empress of Secrets
Greatest known evil. Seeks to destroy the gods and the world and remake the world in her own image. Cruel and diabolical. Appears sans one eye and one hand. Suppossedly has mastered the fates and can control chance around the world. Naming her (saying Vecna) is proported to give one a deadly curse. She has many secretive agents in the world and medles in world affairs though blackmailing people who have secrets. Served by thirteen Forsaken, seven of which were killed recently. Her avatar was defeated by Ishtar at Tovag Baragu in a bid to open the Gates of Time and destroy the gods.
Gilgamesh, King of Nyrond
Son of Ereshkigal (former King
of Nyrond) & suppossedly the Goddess
Ea. He has ruled for 70 yrs and is suppossedly close to 100 yrs old
although he
only looks in his 30s. He is famous for his strength and his autocratic
rule. He vanquished the giants that lived in the
Thrommel II, the King of Furyondy.
A just and good ruler of the northwestern kingdom. His son, Prince Thromel, is a Paladin Knight of the Hart. Both have fought many a campaign against Iuz and the Horned Society. Now they fight the Holy Wars against Ket. Wielded Law Giver, the Sword of Doom at Tovag Baragu.

Siuan Sanche, Archcleric of the Theocracy.
The chief cleric of the Theocracy of the Pale, center for the Nyrundian religion. Attended by the Council of Cardinals. Famous for her piety, her wisdom, and her iron authority of rule. The Archcleric was born in Furyundy, the child of a fisherman. She was born in a liberal and good society and generally tends in that direction, though her Vision and her role as a cleric of Anu has tempered her tendencies somewhat.
She was actually a cleric of Marduke before being selected for this exalted position and converted to Anu with a Writ of Haspergus after the previous Council of Cardinals and Archcleric submitted to voluntary beheading after being compromised by the beguiling powers of the Forsaken Rhavin during the Dark Times. According to the religion, the Archcleric must be a cleric to Anu who then grants the grand vision of how society could be perfect.

Son of the former Overking of the Great Kingdom deposed by Gilgamesh. Retreated to the Baron Isles. Proported to be evil and mad and fit with revenge aganst the Nyrundians and Gilgamesh. Wielded Townsaver against Gilgamesh.
Korenth Zan, The Father of Obediance
The secretive ruler of the Scarlet Brotherhood. Proportedly a master of assasins and/or the Grand Master of Flowers (the most powerful Monk on Oerth). Renouned for his patience and his cunning and his skill at assasination (by decree or by his own hand).
Mayor of the Free City of Greyhawk. Very beloved and famous for his kind demenor. Supposedly a retired thief.
The ultra famous council of mages from Greyhawk City - includes Tenser the fighting mage, Bigby of the hand, the musically inclined Otto, Ottoluke the ice mage, Rary, Nystal, and their ultra powerful leader Mordenkainen the Neutral.

Famous for defeating Iuz's avatar in combat, slaying several Forsaken, championing refugees and the poor. Fought against the armies of Iuz with Furyondy. Saved the Princes life. Slew the undead hordes of old New Evermore and rules there now. Foe of the Dark One. Also known to have had a few moral crisis sent at him by the Dark One - eventually renouncing secrecy as the tool of the Dark One.

Archmage who wielded Wayfinder
and created the Ways (the Briges). Purportedly a very
lawful and good wizard who refuses to summon demons - his mages only
ask the aid of angelic creatures. A renouned diplomat and supposedly a
genius. Designed the city of
Considered the most powerful Archmage on Oerth. Lives in the city of Greyhawk. He takes an active interest in the prosperity of Greyhawk city.
Infamous rogue known in many countries on Oerth. Supposedly assasinated the ruler of Veluna making way for Iuz's armies to take it over. Stole the Crown Jewels and robbed the entire royal vault in Keoland which led to civil uprising and eventual conquest by the Orcs. Amassed an army of trolls and other humanoids and genocidally destroyed a race of good winged humans in the north. Supposedly wielded the Sightblinder, the sword of stealth. Believed to have stolen from the Dark One at Tovag Baragu as well as assasinated many of the Forsaken. Became a bard under Zepplin's tutelage. A variety of Inns and places of ill repute have been named after him.
Rogan Sirith, Paladin Commander of the Knights of The Hart
Leader of the second largest knightly order on Oerth. Reputedly at odds with the Gareth Bryne over some personal matter. Based in Furyondy. Known to be a great strategist and very heroic. Fought many pitched battles against Iuz's armies.
Leader of the northern barbarian clans during the Time of Troubles. Led 3,000 barbarians against the forces of the Dark One at Tovag Baragu. Saviord also led the attacks of the Stonefist Barbarians during the taking of the Duchy of Tehn. Reputed alternatley as ruthless and barbaric or honorable and wise. A one time, wielded Stonecutter, Sword of Siege.
Clerics of Shammash, the Sun God and God of Judgment. The Questioners are the inquisition arm of the Knights of the Holy Shielding. Known for their use of torture in getting information. Their goal is to root out agents of the Dark One.
The Druids
A group based out of the Celadon Forest who have vowed to protect nature from all matter of dangers. At one time they tended the tree of life in the Celadon until it was destroyed when the Dark One tricked the Druid Liguarious Drowlithe. Most were killed by the Shield Knights in a war that destroyed the once impenetrable Druid's Keep.
Trigolese Weaponsmiths
Clerics of the fire god Girru who craft both magical and nonmagical weapons. Only fires created by the fire gods clerics are hot enough for the tempering of steel capable of carying enchantments.
Trigolese weaponsmiths are typicially very strong for blacksmiths and are oft noted by the many weopons they carry. Formidable in battle.
Warriors of Sin
Paladins of the demon fighting Moon Goddess from the city of Beer who travel Oerth in search of demons to slay. Noted by the variety of weapons the insist on carrying and their incredible strengths. Clerics and paladins of Sin lose all powers when no moon is in the night sky. (the 14th of each month)
