Death's
Door
This spell is cast on a creature
who has been brought below 0 or -10 hit points and it will hold that
creature at "death's door" (or -9 hp) for the duration of the spell.
The creature is stabliized and does not continue to take damage each
round due to blood loss. The spell does not provide any healing (other
than to temporarily bring their hit points to -9 or stabilize them at
their current hit points if between 0 and -9). If the character
recieved this spell while they are between 0 and 0 minus their const
bonus, the character remains concious and is considered disabled and
may only take a standard action or a move related action each round and
recieves a -2 cuircumstance bonus to all saves, skill checks, and other
rolls. Any strenuous activity will cause an additional point of damage
and this spell will not prevent that. Characters at -9 are otherwise
unconscious. This spell must be cast within 1 round of the character
going below -10 hit points or the spell simply fails. The character
held at -9 is not considered to have died. While this spell will
temporarily close mortal wounds, the body must be essentially whole (ie
head must be attached, cannot be disintegrated). If enough damage is
not healed by the end of this spell to bring them to -9 or higher hit
points, the target creature dies at the end of the duration. This spell
will not reverse decapitation or disintegration nor can it hold
creatures suffering those effects at Death's Door. Similar to Raise
Dead, this spell does not function on outsiders, constructs, undead, or
elementals.
