DC to Cast 40
Level: Quest Miracle of Ishtar, City Spell of TyrRange:300
ft
The
miracle bestows the power
of the Breath of Khalak on the casting cleric. The cleric can use the
Barrier
Effect of the Miracle or all the other effects, this must be stated
when the
spell is cast.
When
used as an attack, the
cleric calls forth the Breath Weapon of Khalak from Ishtar’s
hand and a breath
extends from the clerics holy symbol towards its target. All creatures
in the
area of effect take 376 points of electrical damage reflex save at 40
for half damage. Immunity to electricity or dragon’s breath
provides
protection against this attack. The zone of damage is entirely under
control of
the cleric. All in the area of effect may take damage or the area of
effect can
be limited to any lesser slice of the greater area up to and including
a bolt
that strikes only one target creature with no collateral damage. The
breath/bolt may extend up to 300 ft and can be controlled to extend to
any
lesser distance. The breath may be bounced off of non-conducting smooth
surfaces (i.e. stone walls) and conducted to all touching and
conductive
surface upon which the breath hits (in which case maximum distance and
area of
effect is halved).
The cleric may also place their life force within this
breath if they so desire. In such a case the breath, if used as an
attack can
alternately act as Possession if it hits the target creature (reflex
save at 45 to avoid
contact with the breath). The cleric’s soul then
occupies the possessed body is a will save DC 40 is failed.
If the cleric so chooses, the cleric’s body and items may
also be carried
magically inside the possessed creature.
The
cleric may transform
herself entirely into the breath of Khalak, in which case they become a
living
electrical bolt. This bolt can be conducted up to 150’ in
conductive material
or travel up to 300’ through the air. The cleric may choose
to transform just
her soul or her body and items as well. At the end of the range of the
bolt the
cleric must either retransform into her original form or use the
possession
function of the breath. If possession is attempted and failed the
cleric
remains at the place where the breath was issued forth.
Alternately, the breath of Khalak may also be fashioned
into a barrier. The barrier can exist for the entire duration of the
spell and
will protect against all natural forces and all elemental forces. The
barrier
protects against energy based attacks which include electricity, fire,
winds,
cold, sandstorms, and gases. The barrier can only be dispelled by a
greater dispel
magic cast at 25th level or by an energy attack
that does more than
376 points of damage in a single blow. Creatures attempting to pass the
barrier
will take 376 points of electrical damage, fortitude save DC 40 for
half. The barrier
may be fashioned into a wall, sphere, hemisphere or any portion there
of. The
size of the barrier may cover up to 300’ radius sphere or
300x300ft wall. If
the area is consecrated and dedicated to Ishtar, that field of
protection may
be increased to cover up to a large city. The barrier effect only
protects
against attacks attempting to penetrate through the barrier and does
not
provide any protection against attacks launched within the barrier to
targets
within the barrier. (It is a shell of impassability). This barrier does
not
protect against non-energy based spells.
