likely)
02 Spell goes off at double strength, (-2 save if applicable), caster
at 1/2 str for 1 day
03 Spell goes off with day long duration, caster at 1/2 const for 1-2
days
04 Spell goes off at minimal effect, +2 on saves, half normal duration
05 Spell goes off with loud thunderous crash (save at -2 vs. spell or
deaf for 1-3 hrs)
06 Spell goes off normally, roll for random potion effect (miscibility
possible), caster is -2 on saves v.s. magic for 1 day.
07 Spell goes off at 1/10th effects, mandatory save at +4, hear fizzle
08 Spell effects at minimum but area of effect is doubled, caster at -4
str & const for 1 day
09 Components contaminated, wrong spell is cast, roll randomly for
spell of same level
10 Spell goes off normally, caster at 25% chance to miscast for I hour

flammables, cannot cast semantic spells
22 spell is 'visible' but has no real effect (treat as 1/10th), casters
hands are paralyzed for 1d4 hours, fingernails turn bright blue
23 spell is mispoken, spell fails, caster ages 1 yr, white streak
appears in hair
24 spell works at minimal effects, summons 1-4 angry arachnids (giant
spiders) which attack caster next round. last until killed
25 spell fails, caster becomes paralyzed and invisible for d3 rounds
26 spell at 1/10 effects, casters voice becomes very high pitched
(helium effect) spell casting at - 10% until dispelled or remove curse
27 spell at 1/10 effect, casters voice becomes inaudible (dogs can
hear), spell casting at -25% until dispelled or remove curse (if can
hear in dog range no neg)
28 spell goes off normally, range is at +50%, caster shrinks to 5% sz
for 2-24 hours
29 spell goes off at minimal effect, caster is polymorphed to another
creature, (roll on reincar table)
Spell Misfire for Conjuration summoning
spells:
01 spell works at double duration, caster at 1/2 const for I day
02 spell at double effect (twice the number of creatures summoned or
etc), caster at 4 of str for 1 day.
03 spell goes off normally, caster disappears for ld3 rounds, returns
within 10-40ft
04 spell at +50% to effect or duration, caster at -3 on saves v.s.
magic for 1-3 hrs
05 spell at half effects, an angry 5 hd fire elemental is summoned in
retribution
06 spell at half effects, an angry 5 hd water elemental is summoned
07 spell at half effects, an angry 5 hd earth elemental is summoned
08 spell at half effects, an angry 5 hd air elemental is summoned
09 spell at half effects, an angry quasit is summoned in retribution
for saying a name
10 spell at half effects an angy imp is summoned in retribution for
saying a true name
11 spell at half effect, a black pudding is summed in ld4 rounds and
attacks caster, black pudding will be summoned each day until a remove
curse from a 9th lvl cleric
11s spell at normal effects, enmity with a greater devil (not arch)
12 spell at half effects, a ghost will begin to haunt the caster from
the ethereal plane
12s spell at normal effects, enmity with a greater demon (not lord)
13 spell fails, a rift to the plane of elemental fire (or plane of
origin of creature summoned) is opened for d4 hours, 25% chance per
hour that something comes through
13s spell at normal effects, enmity with an effreti (use one spell-like
effect for now)
14 spell fails, rift to negative material plane opens for d4 hours, as
above
14s spell at normal effects, enmity with a Marid (use one spell-like
effect for now)
15 spell fails, rift to abyssal plane opens for d4 hours, as above
15s spell at normal effects, enmity with a Djinni (use one spell-like
effect for now)
16 spell fails, rift to abyssal plane opens for d4 hours, black
puddings seep out at a rate of 1 per turn.
16s spell at normal effects, enmity with a Dao (use one spell like
effect for now)
17 spell fails, crack opens up in earth below caster (dex check at -4
or have leg stuck for d4 rounds, 10hd green slime begins to seep up in
d4 rounds.
17s spell at normal effects, enmity with an Arch devil (cursed at - 1
all saves for now)
18 spell fails, thunder booms ahead, save vs spell or deaf for d4
hours, rains on caster (d4hr)
18s spell at normal effects, enmity with a demon lord (cursed at -I all
saves for now)
19 spell fails, caster is locked in test of wills with a ghost trying
to possess body
20 spell fails, a type H demon is summoned instead, caster has no
control
21 spell fails, a type III demon is summoned instead, caster has no
control.
22 spell fails, a gelatinous cube starts spewing forth from casters
fingertips for d4 rounds cube is under control of caster!
23 spell fails, all creatures within the room are summoned to within 10
ft of caster
24 spell fails, a rift is opened to the astral plane and there is 10%
chance per round that any creature is sucked in. Rift lasts for d4 turns
25 spell fails, caster takes lhp/lvl of spell, a storm is summoned into
the room for d4 rounds, thunder makes spellcasting impossible, winds
negate flying, all creatures take d4 per round and may only fight the
winds
26 spell fails, a fogcloud (as per spell) is summoned for 2-5 rounds
27 spell functions normally, lightning strikes target for d6 per lvl of
caster (save for 1/2), if strikes a creature summoned, the creature is
no longer under casters control (laugh)
28 spell fails, caster has summoned a swarm of mosquitoes that attack
all creatures in 30ft
29 spell fails, caster belches forth a stinking cloud (must save vs its
effect)
30 spell fails, instead horrible shrieking sound persists for 2-5
rounds negating all spellcasting and deafening all within 100ft for 1
turn (-20% spell casting)
31 spell fails, grass grows to 4' height within 100ft radius, all
effected as per entangle
32 spell fails, caster is healed but may not cast this spell again for
d4 weeks or heaven will be pissed
33 spell functions normally, caster geased to build secret temple to
Jubilex
