Description:

Stoink surrounded by rocky hills, thunder, and rain. The city is smaller than Midmeadow with flocks of sheep and goats near the city to the East and North, tended by shepherds with drums. Serpent carving on the city walls shows Agad holding a serpent in one hand and a hammer in the other. Stoink has docks on the river that leads to the Nyr Dyv. Three ships in dock when we arrive, also an open air market and Church with drumming. Lord Babba is the leader of the town.

The city is poor and does not have many inns. All who trade or provide lodging must deal with the Insurance Guild, run by Birgett. Buildings are closely packed near the gates but spread out somewhat inside the city as you approach the inns. The South Side of the South Docks is the outsider territory for thieves.

We go into town hoping to find a place to stay with the carriage indoors. We find an inn with common rooms open and a carriage house with space for Portia who will not leave the carriage. We try to convince Carriage House owner to let us stay with the carriage. Darmak pays 30 gp, and he agrees. Dogs guarding the place have barbarian names, Thor and Dagda.

Central square: Man with a golden armband playing the drums by a bonfire. Large outdoor café restaurants, people chanting directions and getting daily weather report from Redspan through the drumming link thunder. Ashandra of Stoink is a lonely-looking midwife.

Hear the story of Agade fighting the great serpent of the Solnor Ocean. The great serpent poisoned him and would kill him, but by sheer will, Agade survives. He wields the Metitum Hammer given to him by Anu for his service as a general in Anu’s army in the war with Kingu. Everyone in the square is given wine to toast the story.

The South District is a bad neighborhood at night; lots of crime and tanneries at the end. Lord Babba is sending four nobles on some sort of a quest to find a lost holy relic. Lots of Radighast business people are in town. I know the Oliphant, a bar to check out for information on Raith.
