In Redspan, We stay in the Red Roof Inn. Boats are in dock in Red Span with scales and turtle shells all around like scales. Some Barbarians come to trade. Ships with tall masts with dragon prows also in dock.

A lot of beards on people here. Many curly-haired people, many red-haired, wear woven clothes, vests. Buildings made of red wood timber, thatched roofs. Badlands have wyborgs (giant ants) and dire wolves. Wall in town has fairly large hole (50-ft. wide) from a Barbarian raid. They can’t close it up or the Barbarians come back and open it again.

At the bathhouses in Red Span. Baths here fed by a hot spring. Atom goes inviso at the bathhouse.

City run by Archbishop Kartale and Lord Hammond. God is Ninerta—god of weather, storms. Symbol is a blue river, city, church steeple. The city is on tenuous terms with barbarians. Duchy cursed with werewolves, dark things walk the night, Worgs/direwolves. If caught within a day, a priest can reverse the effects of lycanthropy in a day. Drops from the cup of Al’Akbar will cure lycanthropy. Wolfsbane repels them. Garlic works against evil spirits. Nevrond Nevrond occupied by clan. Cardinal of Ninurta (Grabford, Redspan) on Council of Cardinals. Lord Finerio McBane fought back the barbarians. Barbarians don’t like mages.

Mages in the area: Tavrost Doors—wizard-war lord with fiefdom near Nevrond Nevrond; Thasal Har the Red-Robed series of secret society of mages—charmed Lord Hammond’s father eight years ago. He wanted one of Lord Hammond’s family’s items. Also stories that he fought the barbarians.

Recently they flooded the Artonsomay to de-ice it. There’s skating there in winter. Player’s House (theater) and inns have theater dancing. Lord of the Dance theatre dancing. They are into sheet music with lots of instruments, simple people complicated music. Food is fresh fish, and potatoes. Breakfast is eggs benedict. Basin of water with ice chips and thick red beet soup. Fog in the city. See coopers rolling barrels in the streets toward docks (merchant, artisan looks). I have a sense of the city map (Thay from the Harn Cities book).

6 people in manacles being led from wharf toward temple—manacled humans average sized, wearing rags, led by militia or mercenaries with symbol with half circle with pie slices with gems in each pie piece like arch, bringing to temple of St. Gregarin (strategy). (Dock House of Redspan). Guards at gate ask Kabtum, St. Gregarin into conversion (could be slaves).

Almost ran into person stepping out of a psice shop. He is well-groomed, nice vest, no symbols. Tells me that social hours are at sunset when the nobility come out about town till midnight. Asks me to go to a dance show with Lord Eben Saul, one of the courtiers of Nevrond Nevrond here visiting friends on business, not really in business (signet ring of his house) he’s vague about his business, settle up with greedy merchants fouled up deal at Nevrond Nevrond without huge—he has no trouble traveling; peasant rumors of evil spirits. Red-Robed believe in philosophy of the red-robed all sorts, not just mages. “You can be a red-robed just by sitting in your parlor.” He knows all the cool places, incense smoke-house of a snake charmer, area with gambling house, takes to clock tower, he is charming, magnetic personality… and a vampire.

It’s a quiet town but a lot going on under the sleepy exterior, meet friends and night life and a lot of “people to fuck with.”

People in town think the spirit of Kas is roaming around. Kids disappear and return a month later to kill their parents.

Shield Knights are building a city in the Celadon to protect the Elcrys. It’s a city to Ishtar ruled by Shield Knights. Lord Enubana Ensurmant and Lady Ereskegal Antrosbane in Redspan. Countess of Urnst brought menagerie of animals from as far as Ket to give as gifts.

Guy from Danai Clan gathering army to attack Theocracy and another clan leader trying to challenge the Danai people. Says bad things about Archbishop Alvere who’s fucking around with their affairs.

Innwights in Redspan—spirits of children looking for comfort and warmth, so they go to inns. Redspan is full of them and salt keeps them away, so we are asked for a salt surcharge. Ratmen in Redspan.

Temple of Halie (bard goes there) near the north side of town, round building on road into town. Go to Drake and Castle Inn—small, fat, noble guy sitting at the table. Gruff little pirate guy. We learn that someone sold 3 horses and a pack mule and took a berth on a ship. (Rispa?) Bartender has golden curly hair (gruff). Ships taking off (one leaving tomorrow, one 3 days after, 2 in 5 days, others?) Bishop Narai presides over the ceremony on the feast of Sin. Sin went west to Nergal’s realm in the forth dome to save one man killed unfairly in a duel.

Asalian manor, House Kurpour, Hall of Circles, Mercantilers Hall, Marketplace Wharf, House of the Rainbow Moon (where Bardashay played), Pilot’s Guild, Seaman’s House, Village of Shitra, Oerth of Wisel, Salter, Chandler (good)
